Jeremy Mayfield?s lawsuit against NASCAR to remain in federal court

Jeremy Mayfield’s lawsuit against NASCAR will remain in federal court, U.S. District Judge Graham Mullen ruled Tuesday. The case, stemming from a drug test last May that NASCAR says was a positive for methamphetamine but Mayfield says was a mix of over-the-counter and prescription medication, has been at a virtual standstill since January in order [...]

Ho-Pin drives an IndyCar

Renault F1 Team third driver, Ho-Pin Tung, made sporting history last weekend when he became the first driver with a Chinese racing license to get behind the wheel of an IndyCar at Sebring International Raceway in Florida. Ho-Pin was testing for the FAZZT Race Team with a view to competing in the 2011 IndyCar series as the team looks to expand to a two-car operation. As much as it may hurt to admit it, Drew Brees over Jimmie Johnson for AP Male Athlete of the Year is the right call

Jimmie Johnson is No. 2.

Man, I haven't said that in a long time. In this particular case, it's accurate. Johnson finished second in voting for the Male Athlete of the Year by the Associated Press.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who led his team to a Super Bowl victory, was a clear winner.

And as much as it will irritate some NASCAR fans to hear it, the voters got it right.

Many NASCAR followers, even some who aren't Johnson fans, won't like it. They will insist Johnson deserved...

Robert Kubica, R30-05 Free Practice 1: P5, 1:44.080, 18 laps Free Practice 2: P5, 1:41.576, 31 laps Robert: It was an unusual start to first practice today with a damp track, but once it had dried out, the situation was similar to what we found last year: the track evolution was huge, and the tyre degradation was pretty high, too, which made it hard to do much consistent running because the circuit was getting better as the tyres got worse. It's tricky to find a nice balance on the car (...)

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series number crunching for awards season

Greetings, my lackeys.

If you thought you were going to have to go the entire NASCAR offseason (what is it, like 10 days?) without a blog post from me, well, you were sorely mistaken.

And how dare you doubt my blogging dedication. I feel myself starting to hulk up.

But before Willis smash, it's time to reflect on the NASCAR awards this season. NASCAR doesn't give many "official" awards, but many of my fellow writers and bloggers, from this site and others (don't read the others), have given their...
